Bali. Where i will live someday…and teach yoga

Bali. Where i will live someday…and teach yoga

Only through the letting go of resistance, through becoming “vulnerable,” can you discover your true and essential invulnerability._Eckhart Tolle

Sometimes the darkness is so heavy. Sometimes these clouds above me become so consistent day in and day out that I want to scream, pack my bags, sell everything and fly off to Bali. Maybe someday I’ll be able to teach yoga retreats in other countries where I never have to come home. I would just make a living off of flying in you rich people to do yoga with me while I lay in paradise in a distant country.

But today is not that day and I know that dammit…but I can dream. The darkness that fills the Washington skies makes me dream of things like this. The clouds sometimes fill me to a point that I feel that I have created an imaginary cloud prison here. Days like this, I must PUSH GRATITUDE into my day. I must wake myself up from daydreaming my days away and look at what is going well. I don’t know how unhealthy Seattleites make it around here. I have to wake up into the darkness and make the most of beautifully made “gyms” we have around here. I have to go purchase a tanning package and tan every couple weeks to feel that feeling you sun-bathers get year round….I have to take Valerian root to make the anxiety hide, I have to read books everyday that make me know that I am alive, I have to go to hot yoga daily so my skin doesn’t shatter in the freezing weather. It takes lots of work complaining! Hahaha

But I am happy today, despite the weather.

Complaining about the weather has nothing to actually do with the weather. The weather is constant here in Seattle. Our reactions to the weather are the only thing we can control.

I’m trying to remain in control.

I love mornings where I can wake up early enough to have time to make a nice big breakfast, chug down 4 cups of water, relax and read blogs all before it’s time to go to the gym! Too often we sleep in, rush to our convenience foods, rush to work, don’t eat proper food because we don’t have time at that point, we get home late, do all the tasks we need to do in a short spurt of time, and fall asleep late…and then we toss and turn at night. We wonder why we can never seem to get to sleep?

ok, ok just one more of my Bali dream...

It’s probably because we don’t spend enough time relaxing and doing what we need to do to stay healthy. This is such a fast paced world…it’s easy to forget what is important…like our existence. Don’t be a drone. Make time for YOU.
