“Give up defining yourself – to yourself or to others. You won’t die. You will come to life. And don’t be concerned with how others define you. When they define you, they are limiting themselves, so it’s their problem. Whenever you interact with people, don’t be there primarily as a function or a role, but as the field of conscious Presence. You can only lose something that you have, but you cannot lose something that you are.”
― Eckhart Tolle
As you know, my blog is kind of a self-help blog for the body, but also for the mind and soul. I spend a lot of time in the gym and yoga, but when it comes down to it, life is not about being PERFECT ON THE OUTSIDE. I don’t care how much television you watch and how many stupid magazines we get sucked into….everything we see, we want. We are conditioned to buy things, models are payed large amounts of money because they attract our sad little egos to feel like we need to buy those clothes, and we need that body to be what we see on the advertisements. We want to be pretty; we want to feel worth it…right?
It’s no big deal. But you MUST realize that you are so beautiful for being who you are right now. You really are. Everyone has different tastes…what we see as beautiful, someone can find ugly. I hope you realize the mind is a crazy, twisted flow of thoughts and views that are different from the person next to you. The person next to you has a completely different view of beauty. When you look around you see many married couples that all found each other at one point, and found the perfect fit! Someday someone will find you, or you will find someone and you with both have the same view of beauty towards each other. The mind is crazy. Anorexic people stare at skinny bodies of bones all day hoping to someday be “that beautiful” when obviously that is unhealthy. Like I said, everyone is different and everyone’s “idea” of beauty is different.
Bottom line; don’t sweat the fucking small stuff.
You shouldn’t sit on your bottom all winter and then email me or text me asking how to lose 10 pounds in a week….I will laugh and try to give you the best advise I can but in reality, if you maintain a healthy diet and get your heart pumping everyday, you wont need these quick fixes that only equal binge eating and defeat in the near future.
For any of you that haven’t already read this amazing book, it’s a must-read:
“A New Earth” from Eckhart Tolle. It’s a life-changer and I encourage everyone to read it. It really sets your head straight….I read half the book in an evening. I just take it to the gym and read it for an hour on the elliptical haha. I like to incorporate all my hobbies with fitness. Lately I’ve been doing more of what I love and still continuing to cook.
Here’s my week’s schedule for the last several days and you will see, even though I’m not updating, I’m getting my fitness in!

Tomorrow is Thursday and I’m planning trying a new place in Kirkland called Bassline Fitness, which I hear is a huge cardio mix of treadmill, bike and rowing?? And you alternate as a class and I heard it’s an amazing workout. Other than that I will try to get in some yoga and maybe TRX. In between all of this I do a lot of reading and just recently started painting again! Got to stick to making sure every day is filled with your passions:)
