“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.”

― Eckhart Tolle

ohhhh yes. Thank you Eckhart, you always have the right words to say for everything. Isn’t this true? Too many of us walk around wondering why our life is not full of abundance. We wonder why good things never happen to us, we wonder why we are fat; we wonder why we are skinny. We wonder why our spouse is not like THAT spouse, we wonder why we are always walking around single and lonely. We wonder why we cant do a handstand, we wonder why last summer’s shorts don’t fit, we ask why…why, why, why, why, why? WHY ME?

When you are constantly walking around looking at all the bad going on in your life, someone is appreciating the things they DO have, and they are smiling about it. People with even LESS than you are wishing they could have half the life you do. When you are staring in that mirror wishing you could lose 5 pounds, someone is doing the same thing wishing they could lose 50! Or 100! Stop having a bad self-image.

But there we go, day in and day out wondering why life is so, so hard. I used to be one of those people. I used to starve myself. At one point I was even borderline bulimic but not many people know that story. I have gone through so many of these self-destructive paths. I used to wonder why no one loved me, or wondered why I could understand everything in school but I was too lazy to try hard. In gymnastics, I used to wonder why I could never to a backflip. I used to wonder why I was so short. I could go on and on and I probably already have.

Here’s the thing; instead of wondering why you feel unloved by people in your life, ask yourself “Why don’t I love myself? Why don’t I love myself enough to not NEED outside attention from others?”

When you look at everything in life as a blessing…life improves. Your life will become everything you want it to be because you are doing things with love, and you are loving yourself.

I learned this the hard way but I sure don’t regret a moment of any of it because now I write to help you. I can now grow from it and help more people realize how blessed their life is already on its own.

  • Make gratitude lists.
  • Create a list of goals like a bucket list: make a summer bucket list, a year bucket list, a life bucket list….and always strive for them.
  • Smile more.
  • DO NOT WEIGHT YOURSELF…just start working out in any way possible (even if its just a daily walk).
  • Eat things in its most natural state or close to it.
  • Do things you love.
  • ONLY be around people you love.
  • Never depend on being in a relationship or getting into one as a way to improve your life.

You should love your life just as it is this moment. You should spend time alone. A person that is happy in solitude is a happy person in any situation.

Life is not that hard, we just complicate it with negative thought patterns.
